Fully Automatic Sliding Door and Accessible Ramp
The Power Fold-Out XL Toyota Sienna mobility van offers unparalleled ease of access, thanks to its power sliding side doors and electric folding ramp.   Both can be activated utilizing the vehicle’s factory key-fob, or by the installed interior controls, opening up the sliding door and slowly deploying the power wheelchair ramp.  The ramp offers a backup emergency power system as well as manual operation in the event of a power failure.  The Power Fold-Out XL mobility van ramp is constructed of lightweight aluminum and is exactly 29.25’’ wide, capable of handling up to 1000 lbs.  Coated in a durable, non-stick powder coated finish, the ramps are also slotted to prevent debris accumulation within the van.   

Auto Kneeling Feature

All BraunAbility®, Power Fold-Out XL handicap vans are equipped with an integrated “kneeling” system.  This automatic power feature helps reduce the ramp angle to allow for easier entrance and exiting of the vehicle.  An on-board computer activates the rear passenger side mounted actuator as soon as the ramp is deployed, lowering the ramp side of the van for a reduced ramp angle.  This feature is easily toggled on or off via a dash mounted switch. 

In order to improve interior mobility, the floor of each Power Fold-Out XL is lowered up to 14’’ from behind the engine bay to the rear axle.  This allows for a 56’’ door clearance for an easy, unencumbered entry.  The lowered floor also provides the wheelchair user and improved line of sight from both the driver and passenger positions. Debuting in 2017, the BraunAbility® XL wheelchair conversion replaced the late model XT.  These conversions featured an additional 6’’ of interior floor space behind the rear seat, allowing for the new vans to accommodate a wide variety of larger mobility scooters and chairs.  

Both front seats are removable on the BraunAbility® Power Fold-Out XL Toyota Sienna mobility van. A standard and necessary feature, the removable seats allow the wheelchair users to occupy both the driver and passenger spaces from either their wheelchair or front seat.  Both seats are easily unlocked at the base and roll away for simple storage, able to be snapped back in at a moment’s notice.
