Few things can bring people together for a good time like a memorable sporting event. Get in on the fun at these great wheelchair accessible sports venues in and around Baltimore, MD.

1. Oriole Park at Camden Yards

This downtown destination hosts the Major League Baseball mainstay team Baltimore Orioles. Since its completion in 1992, the stadium has been dedicated to serving up an amazing experience for all members of the community. Accommodations include permitted service animals, assistive listening devices, and a fan assistance center that serves as an aide for individuals who need specialized help or accommodations.

Wheelchair users have access to drop-off points, elevators, and designated parking areas. Individuals can also purchase accessible seating that is available throughout the stadium. In addition, the fan assistance center has on-site wheelchairs available for transport to and from seats.

2. M&T Bank Stadium

This home to the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens has over 8,000 seats and 128 suites. It’s next to Oriole Park and shares the same design team. This locale also shares a commitment to inclusion. Like its baseball park counterpart, the stadium offers accessible seating on all levels. Seats can be secured by contacting the ticket office in advance.

Further, two major areas of the parking lot include accessible parking. All parking lots open about four and a half hours before kickoff. Fill up one of those parking spots with the Toyota Sienna and experience the ultimate in accessibility. This spacious auto has plenty of plusses, including convenient adjustable seats and sliding areas, bountiful passenger and cargo room, and an ultra-handy cabin intercom system to stay in close contact.

3. Pimlico Race Track

One of the oldest horse racing tracks in America, this venue is famous for its annual delivery of the second leg of the Triple Crown: the Preakness Stakes. If you’re a horse racing enthusiast who needs special accommodations, don’t feel left out. Accessible amenities are available in seating, restrooms, concessions, and parking. Wheelchair users have access to elevators and can bring along service animals if needed.

Wheelchair rentals are available as well. Accessibility options are even included for the Sunrise at Old Hilltop Tours that take place before the Preakness.

4. Baltimore Arena

This massive facility is home to athletic events galore, from basketball tournaments to wrestling to bull riding. Best of all, it’s fully wheelchair accessible. It’s also in the process of a major renovation, which should only enhance the customer experience for all visitors.
